About us
IFB Gaming is a local non-profit. Since 2015 we have helped people who are shut out of the digital world get online, build confidence, and take part in everyday life. We are based in Southwark and are part of Good Things Foundation’s National Digital Inclusion Network.
This volunteer role is for people who want to support our work here in Southwark.
We believe digital inclusion should reach everyone. Always.

Why we need you
Many people in Southwark cannot get online, or find it frightening. Older people, carers, people on low
incomes, people who have never had the chance to learn. A patient, friendly volunteer can change that.
You do not fix the internet. You sit with someone, show them, and cheer them on.

What you would do
You can help with any of these, based on what you enjoy:
– Sit one-to-one with someone and help them use a phone, tablet, or computer
– Support our sessions and community events
– Help people get online safely: email, video calls, NHS services, benefits, staying safe from scams
– Welcome people, make tea, and help them feel at ease
– Share what you learn so we can keep improving

Our programmes you could support
– Empowering Futures. Our year-round work helping people build real digital skills and confidence.
– Can’t Get Online Week. A national push to reach people who are still offline, with local events and support.
– Winter Data Care. Help for people facing hardship in winter, when being cut off online hits hardest.

Who we are looking for
You do not need to be a tech expert. What matters most:
– You are patient, kind, and good with people
– You are reliable and turn up when you say you will
– You can use everyday tech (phone, email) well enough to show someone else
– You care about people who get left behind
– A connection to Southwark, or knowledge of the borough, is a real plus.

What you get back
– Real experience and a reference
– Training and support, including free courses like Learn My Way
– The good feeling of helping someone in your own community
– Reasonable expenses covered
