We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant at our school based in Bermondsey, South London. The role involves providing support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in various classroom settings.
Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 assistance to SEND pupils during their daily routines.
- Working with small groups of SEND pupils to support their learning and engagement.
- Assisting pupils with their educational and personal needs as required.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive learning environment.
There may be room to negotiate working hours to accommodate the needs of both the school and the candidate. The role has the potential to become permanent, offering stability and continuity, and opportunities for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) are available, which indicate our commitment to the professional growth of all our staff members
Requirements:
- Experience or qualifications in working with SEND pupils would likely be advantageous.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential when working with pupils who have diverse learning needs.
- Flexibility to adapt to different learning styles and strategies.
