We are recruiting an Assistant Support Worker to join our team at Westminster Homelessness Services. Westminster Homelessness Services provides services across No.10 drop-in centre and St Ann’s (residential accommodation) in Westminster.

Job Summary:
Are you innovative, energetic and looking for an exciting frontline challenge? Are you the right person to be part of this specialised work with those who have experienced, are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness in London? 

 The role involves supporting people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, including those with drug or alcohol addiction, physical or mental ill health, and social problems, to effect positive change in their lives and enable them to move into independent living. It also involves working alongside those in work or patients discharged from the NHS, who are accommodated in our 24 bedded centre (St Ann’s), supporting their ongoing employment sustainability and their successful move on into more permanent accommodation. 

 Key Responsibilities:
Each day will provide a new challenge as you work alongside service users and residents to provide them with support and encourage them to resolve the reasons behind their homelessness.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
• Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by people who are experiencing homelessness and vulnerable clients
• Ability to work in a busy environment and be solution focused
• Able to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
 

Package: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata for part-time); a contributory pension scheme; season ticket loan; an employee assistance programme 

Appointment subjectect to Satisfactory References, Proof of right to work in the UK and DBS check
