The Commissariat (for clothing, sports kit, stationery and books), which has been operating in the interests of Dulwich boys for over eighty years. A full range of uniform, sports clothing and stationery is available.
The Commissariat remains open via our website for the purchase of items or the renewal of lunch swipe cards.
Boys in the Middle and Upper Schools should update these before the beginning of each term.
We are looking for a candidate who can offer to our clients an excellent retail experience and to complete any tasks reasonably asked by the Sales Manager, always ensuring we are open on the hours specified to provide a convenient service to our customer.

Core Duties:
• Always ensuring immaculate timekeeping & attendance record.
• Must have a full understanding of how to use the POS/ back of house systems & be passionate about meticulous records of all deliveries, stock intake & sales/distribution.
• Always to handle customer complaints and queries to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Supporting Sales manager in achieving financial objectives as per the given targets.
• Hands on with inventory control by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system (RMH) as & when needed or instructed to do so.
• Execute excellent customer service skills to understand the needs of the schools & business’ needs.
• Support 2nd hand PTA team with sales, space & over all safeguarding practices.
• To ensure that all communication is dealt with quickly and politely, efficiently recording messages and, where necessary, passing information accurately.
• To be aware of all security regulations relating to stock and cash handling and the responsibilities it holds
• To be fully conversant with the rules and regulations, Staff Policies and the Emergency procedures.
• To always maintain the highest standard of behaviour, performance and appearance, ensuring that all items of clothing are smart dress code.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Should have previous retail/warehouse experience.
• Should be able to understand & adhere to policy, procedure & processes.
• Must be able to demonstrate an appetite for detail.
• Have a passion for delivering excellent customer service & working as part of a strong team.

Personal Qualities
• Good Communication skills as will be expected to deal with a wide range of people from delivery drivers, students, teachers, vendors & parents, in person, on the phone or via email.
• Be physically fit – will be expected to lift, carry & walk at pace, most of the shift.
• Resilient & resourceful – will be expected to work alone as well as with others.
• Will be expected to be self-starting & tenacious about the DC Values & Code of Conduct.
• Patient – should always work harmoniously within the team.

The post holder will undertake the appropriate level of training and is responsible for ensuring that they understand and work with the safeguarding policies of the organisation.
All staff must take care of their own health and safety and that of others, observe applicable safety rules, follow instructions for the safe use of
equipment and co-operate with managers on health and safety matters (including the investigation of any incident).
