Key Focus/ Role Purpose:
To be responsible for the provision of counter services to members in carrying out business with members; using the accounting system including updating the cash book, implementing cash controls and computer inputs and to provide administrative support to the London Mutual Credit Union Limited.
Key Activities
- To keep accurate records of all cash transactions.
- To carry out administrative and reception duties as required.
- To deal with all membership and general enquiries.
- To process membership applications and introduce members to the Credit Union Services, Products and Policies.
- To maintain accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions and process cash book entries and data input and ensure proper credit control is maintained and reported.
- To undertake arrangements and preparations for the Board and Committee Meetings and attend in support if required.
- To supervise and guide volunteers assisting with Credit Union operations.
- To provide counter service to Credit Union members.
- To observe and uphold the best principles of customer care in discharging the duties of this post and achieving the Credit Union aims and objectives in delivering high standards of care for member satisfaction.
- To observe and uphold the principles of Equality of Opportunity in discharging the duties of the post and securing the Credit Union’s aims and objectives.
- To process member loan application forms in accordance with the Loan Policy of London Mutual Credit Union.
- To implement and adhere to all procedures and policies introduced from time to time by the Credit Union and to undertake such other duties and responsibilities as are commensurate with the post.
- To undertake any other duties as may be directed by the Branch Manager from time to time
Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Costumer Service Experience
- Cash handling experience
- Team player
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets
- IT skills including word processing
- Good interpersonal skills
- Previous credit union experience or similar financial organisation
- Awareness of financial inclusion issues
- Knowledge of credit unions
