Overview

  • Formulate, execute, and oversee effective health and safety initiatives, policies, and protocols across all construction sites.
  • Perform routine safety assessments and examinations to pinpoint potential risks and ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Foster cooperation with project managers and on-site supervisors to integrate safety measures into all facets of project planning and execution.
  • Deliver training and direction to staff, contractors, and subcontractors regarding appropriate safety procedures and protocols.
  • Probe into incidents and accidents, pinpointing their underlying causes and applying corrective and preventative actions.
  • Keep informed of evolving industry trends and regulatory changes and propose recommendations for continuous enhancement.
  • Maintain precise records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training sessions.

The HSEQ Manager is responsible for implementing, reviewing, and maintaining the Glenman Environmental Health and Safety Management system to ensure it fulfills the needs of the company and meets the requirements of ISO18001, 14001 and 9001:2015. This role requires regular reporting to the Directors and communication with other Glenman managers to identify areas of improvement in the EHS Management system.

Experience and skills

  • Previous experience in a Health and Safety Management role.
  • Professional certifications in health and safety. NEBOSH National Diploma.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Communication skills to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential safety issues.
  • Scaffold inspection, first aid, fire warden and asbestos awareness training.
