This post is an Apprentice Residential Care Officer working as a part of a team of in-house staff providing care at Orient Street Short Breaks (respite) Unit for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism (and associated physical disabilities).
- 5 beds for adults (Registered with the Care Quality Commission); and
- 5 beds for Children (Registered with Ofsted)
The Apprentice Residential Care Officer will support the delivery of a short breaks service that achieves positive outcomes for service users and carers, facilitating maximum independence, dignity, choice and control, through person centred planning and support. The post holder will participate in the Southwark Apprenticeship Programme to work in a supported learning environment to develop advanced professional skills, knowledge, behaviours and work experience within Orient Street overnight short breaks service. To attend a course of study with an assigned learning provider or college to attain an apprenticeship award or qualification that meets the requirements of National Occupational Standards at level 3.
Have 5 GCSEs grade A-C/9-4 or equivalent; including Maths and English at level 2
