To become an apprentice, you must:

  • Be 16 or over
  • Not already be in full time education.

Apprenticeship levels and qualifications you need to apply

Apprenticeships range in level. So there are ones to suit you whatever stage you are at in your career. You might need certain qualifications to apply for particular levels. This could be previous industry qualification. Or a GCSE level education in English, Maths and sciences. The levels and qualifications required to apply are:

  • Level 2 – Intermediate – GCSE equivalent
  • Level 3 – Advanced – A level equivalent
  • Level 4/5/6/7 – Higher – Foundation degree level and above
  • Level 6/7 – Degree – Bachelor/ Masters degree
